Careers

A small team, mostly remote, with roots in Muscat

How we work

We are a comparison service rather than a rental company, which shapes what the work looks like. Nobody here washes cars or stands at a counter. The job is checking supplier conditions, writing accurately about a country people are about to drive across, and answering travellers who are usually anxious about a deposit rather than about a car.

The team is small and distributed. Some of us are in Muscat, some work remotely across GCC time zones. We recruit on a rolling basis and keep applications on file rather than opening and closing formal vacancies, so it is worth writing even when nothing is advertised.

The roles we recruit for

Supplier relations

Talking to rental companies in Oman: what their deposit conditions really are, which cards they accept, how they behave when a flight lands at 2 a.m. Requires Arabic and English, and the patience to read a contract twice.

Muscat or remote

Traveller support

Answering email from people who have booked or are about to. Most questions are about documents, deposits and cards. Arabic and English needed; a third language is genuinely useful, German and Russian most of all.

Remote

Content and research

Writing the pages that explain Oman to someone who has never driven here: which roads need a 4x4, where the checkpoints are, what the khareef does to availability in Salalah. Needs first-hand knowledge of the country, not just a search engine.

Remote

Airport and handover coordination

Checking how pickups actually go at Muscat International Airport, following up when a handover goes wrong, and keeping our descriptions of the process honest. Based in Muscat, with a driving licence.

What we look for

Accuracy above speed. Everything we publish is something a traveller may act on at a rental desk in a foreign country, so being approximately right is not good enough. If you find yourself checking a number twice before sending it, you will fit.

Directness. When a supplier condition is bad for the customer, we write that it is bad. Nobody here is asked to make something sound better than it is.

Local knowledge counts more than a long CV. Someone who has driven the road to Jebel Shams and knows what the checkpoint asks for is more useful to us than someone with a longer list of previous employers.

How to apply

Send a CV and a short note to [email protected]. Name the role you are interested in, or say what you think you could do for us if none of the above fits.

Two things help an application more than a cover letter. First, an example of something you have written or researched, in any language. Second, a specific observation about this site - a page that is wrong, unclear or missing. We read those closely.

We reply to applications we want to take further, usually within two weeks. Applications are kept on file for up to a year unless you ask us to delete them; how we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

More about who is already here is on the team page.
